SEAWEED & ORCHID RISOGRAPH PRINTS & PROJECTIONS
These posters are part of the experimental development for my Salt and Stem project, exploring the themes of seaweed and orchid conservation. I combined layered facts, text, and photography to test how these elements translated through Risograph printing.
Using bold, vibrant colours and overlapping imagery, I explored how to create visually impactful compositions that reflect the natural beauty of these species. These experiments helped inform the final visual direction of the project, allowing me to push the aesthetic potential of Risograph as a key part of my design process.
I also experimented with projecting my prints at a larger scale, using the photography studio to explore how they might work in an exhibition setting. This process helped me better understand the scale of my practice and its potential. I enjoy testing ideas, often the most unexpected outcomes are the most effective.
FEMINISM PROJECT –
MIXED MEDIA DESIGN EXPERIMENTS
These are a series of digital and hands-on experiments I created during a first-year project exploring feminism. I combined watercolour textures, illustration, and digital design to investigate how traditional and modern techniques can work together to communicate a powerful message.
This process allowed me to explore how layering different styles can create meaningful, visually engaging outcomes that not only tell a story but also strengthen the impact of the message behind the work.
SKIN APP & POSTER CONCEPT
This was a second-year concept project where I developed an app and supporting poster design under the theme “Skim Perfection”—a platform focused on celebrating imperfection and building a supportive community around shared skin experiences.
The app was designed to create a safe, inclusive space where users could connect with others facing similar skin concerns, share stories, exchange product recommendations, and build personalised skincare routines. While this may not be my strongest visual work, the project reflects my ability to work with different types of software and explore user-focused design thinking.
The concept had strong potential and allowed me to experiment with combining design, wellbeing, and community in a meaningful digital format.
CERN PROJECT –
PROJECTION & MATERIAL EXPERIMENTS
These visuals are part of a series of experiments I carried out for the CERN project, using ink, paint, and other materials in a free, intuitive way. By moving the materials around on a surface and projecting them onto a large screen, I was able to create unexpectedly powerful, space-like visuals through a simple but effective technique.
This hands-on, experimental approach played a key role in shaping the aesthetic direction of my project. The dynamic forms, textures, and colours captured through projection added a sense of movement and scale that helped reinforce the space and science-inspired themes at the core of the brief.
